The French Come In Extreme Sailing Series

The Norauto crew paired up with the team of America’s Cup to join the Extreme Sailing series. Norauto is a sailing team which comprises of Groupama Team France that joined the Extreme Sailing Series in Act 6 at Lisbon. This was one of the wild card entries in the act. In total there would be nine teams of world class caliber who would be sailing hydro foiling GC32s in a fleet in the debut race at Lisbon. This race will take place from 6th to 9th October.

The Norauto crew has joined as the team from the French America’s Cup. The lineup includes Groupama Team France members. It includes Kiwi Adam, 30 years of age and a racing champion of the World Match along with the experience of having sailed in the Extreme Sailing Series before. Befittingly he would be leading the team and he looks forward at the challenging race coming up.

Whilst it’s not always been Plain Sailing, he stated that he was happy to have been invited to be part of the race. He feels that it would be cool to race against the other members in the fleet that would be sailing. The fact that the race would be on the course defined, as well as on specific terms would make the race even more difficult.

About The Wilmington Rowing Club

Rowing with the Wilmington Rowing Club is definitely educational for the new members. The Christina River that is in Wilmington definitely showcases the Wilmington Rowing Club boathouse that is set by its shores. The premier member of the club is Lydia Turner, who is now 88 years of age. Being a native of Wilmington she is originally from Germany.

She started rowing first when she was 16 years of age. She then settled in the US with an American soldier. Here she continued the craft. Today she is considered a stalwart member of the rowing club.

Croatian vessel maker introduces second yacht

Brodosplit, the largest shipyard of Croatia, has introduced their 2nd pleasure yacht, the sixty meter Katina, back in June this year that was then showcased to the public for the very first time at recent Monaco Yacht Show. The custom made 4-deck vessel is built with a steel hull as well as aluminum superstructure and it features a hugely voluminous interior because of her square design shapes.

Ali Getz, a Turkish designer, realized the owner’s idea of an unlittered exterior image concentrating on linear blueprint cues like her continues wrap around exterior decks and uninterrupted profile lines. Accrording to a Croatian yacht charter company’s blurb, the grand sundeck region is dedicated to outdoor living with several sunbathing regions as well as a raised platform for Jacuzzi.

Nick Thompson happy at his Rio call

Nick Thompson, a Lymington-born sailor, has expressed his relief after he was named in the Team GB team for the Olympic Games next summer. The twenty-nine-year-old world champ, was a bronze medalist of last year’s Olympic test event. Now he is set to be a part of the Great Britain team in Rio.

Speaking about his happiness, Nick said that he has been attempting very hard for a long time to be selected for an Olympics. He has done 3 Olympic cycles full-time and almost more, and to not actually have had the scope to represent his country has been utterly disappointing.
